Polish Catholic priest healed during retreat - Fr. Jan Jaworski, Papua New Guinea

I am a Catholic Priest from Poland working in Papua New Guinea for twenty six years as a Parish Priest and a chaplain to a government hospital and as a medical doctor – surgeon (ortho) I knew about the Divine Retreat Centre through SMMI sisters, some of whom come from Kerala. I attended my first retreat in 1995. In 1997, I had suffered from blocking of my left index finger. Since there is no conservative treatment, I did not do anything. But as it is an important finger for a practicing surgeon I had decided to go to Poland to have an operation on the finger’s tendon. It was on the way to Poland from Papua New Guinea that I stopped in India and came for the retreat for the second time. During the healing service when I raised my hands to pray, I felt a touch. I thought that it was my neighbour. When I opened my eyes I realised that there was nobody near me who could touch me. Then I realised that my finger was healed and it is so until now. There was no need for any operation or any other treatment. The Word of God that touched me was, “See, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands” (Is 49:16). After that I attended another retreat at DRC in 2003. My faith is gradually increasing over the years. However, I found out that the ‘stumbling block’ in increasing my faith, as I would like to have it, is my anger which I am not able to live with any longer. For this reason I came again to DRC to ask the Lord to remove from me this anger – the stumbling block in loving God and other people fully and whole heartedly. I praise and thank the Lord Jesus.
