MAN PARALYZED FOR SIX YEARS TOTALLY HEALED!(Rajendra Singh, Shimoga, Karnataka)

I am 65 years old and a catholic by birth. I Had an attack of a paralytic stroke six years ago and was unable to walk ever since. For the last three years, I had also lost my speech completely. I had very little control of my urinary bladder so I had to always need help from my family very frequently to pass urine. The doctors told me that my old habit of drinking alcohol and smoking tobacco had damaged my liver and had made a bad impact on my whole immune system. They even told me there was no cure and that I would never walk again.

I was given a few tablets and my family were told to give me anything I asked for – a hint that my end was nearing. My eating also deteriorated and so too my health and my hope! By this time, my stomach became hard like a stone.

Due to my daughter’s insistence, with her family, my wife and I came to attend the weekly Kannada-language retreat in Divine Retreat Centre reluctantly. During the Inner Healing session, the Priest proclaimed, “I am the God that healeth thee.” (Exodus 15:26) As soon as I heard this Word of God, I felt I was being given strength to rise up and walk. I looked at Jesusin the Blessed Sacrament and I received more and more power from the Rucharist. I made an attempt to rise and walk.

To my own surprise, I found that I was able to walk. Along with the praises of all the people around, I also started praising Jesus as I started walking in the Retreat Hall. Seeing me - a bedridden man - rise and walk, all the people started shouting and praising to our Lord Jesus!!!

Later I found that I was able to eat better and my frequency of urination had gone to more than 4 hours. I have found relief from ALL the sickness I had by the mercy of God.

I praise You a million times, Jesus!

DAUGHTER AND FATHER HEALED OF PAINFUL TONSILLITIS (Merlin, Bellari, Karnataka)

I had severe throat pain and the doctors told me that I was suffering from tonsillitis. My father also had the same problem. Both of us had a boil in the throat on the right side. I underwent an operation but still the pain continued as the boil was still there. I suffered intensely whenever there was a weather change or whenever I ate an ice-cream or anything cold. Even if I consumed a only glass of cold water, I would have pain.

I came to Divine Retreat Centre and offered my pain to our Lord Jesus. I also offered my father’s throat pain to God and begged Jesus for a healing. During the Adoration, I broke down because I continued to have intense pain. Today, I was tempted to eat an ice-cream and after that I noticed, I did not have any pain. To my surprise, the boil had vanished! I was extremely happy and I called up my dad to find out about his throat. I was truly delighted to hear from my dad that the size of the boil which was on his throat had reduced considerably and he did not have any throat pain! The Lord not only healed me but he also heard my prayer and healed my father as well.

POWER OF PRAYER HEALS WOMAN OF SEVERE TYPHOID (Serena, Somarpet, Karnataka)

I was severely afflicted with typhoid for 3 months. The doctors said that I would die within 3 months. My parents sent prayer requests to all the prayer groups that we had known. Finally, my parents sent a prayer request to the Intercessory Prayer Group in Divine Retreat Centre. After the prayer was sent, I was totally healed and now I am hale and healthy. I stand before God here today in Divine to give my testimony.

FAITH IN JESUS HEALS MAN’S UNKNOWN FOOT AILMENT (P. Mariaappa, Bangalore, Karnataka)

For the past three months, I could not put my feet on the ground as I suffered a severe burning sensation and pain. I went to a hospital at Kolar, Karnataka. They were unable to cure me. No one knew the reason of this ailment. I spent a lot of money but to no avail. I visited Divine Retreat Centre and prayed to the Lord with a lot of faith. The burning sensation vanished and I am completely healed of my pain. This has proved to me that Jesus never fails!

TOTAL HEALING OF FAST-SPREADING NECK CANCER (Gerald Pereira, Mangalore, India)

I was suffering a lot because of a cyst on my neck. Doctors examined it and found out that it was cancer that was spreading very fast. They told me that I had only six months to live!

I underwent an operation and was given lots of medication to take. I had a lot of faith that I would be healed in Divine so I came here with a ll my medication. During the Inner Healing session, a message was read my name that God was healing me of my cancer. I believed in this message and I am living even today – more than two years and three months since my operation! I do not take any medicines at all.

I had also take a loan of Rs.400,000 for my operation and I had difficulty repaying it. However, after my retreat in Divine, God showed me a way to repay my loan.

Finally, we had to dig a bore well for agricultural purposes and because God willed it, the well gave a stream of gushing water. Many other wells were dug but there was no water.

I praise the Lord for the many miracles He has worked in my life!

COMPLETE HEALING OF EYESIGHT AND FOOD ALLERGIES (Mrs. Veronica D Souza, Mangalore, India )

I had attended my first retreat in Divine four years ago. At that time, I suffered from severe headaches for which the doctors told me that I had to wear spectacles for a minimum of 5 hours everyday. I also had food allergies and was unable to eat any meat or potatoes. During my first retreat here, my allergy towards meat and potatoes disappeared completely!

I have now attended my second retreat here with my husband. Since the first day of the retreat, I have not worn my spectacles and I have not experienced any headaches during this retreat. I give thanks to Our Lord for His healing touch!

DEAF EAR IS COMPLETELY HEALED! (Appoune Menezes, Bangalore, India )

I could not hear anything with my left ear and also had a right disc problem. After Confession on the third day of the retreat (Tuesday) here in Divine, I found that I could hear the Word of God being preached clearly with my left ear!

My right disc problem has also reduced – I feel less pain and now I sleep very well. I praise and thank God for His love!

FAITH IN JESUS BLESSES FAMILY (Tereza Komarpant, Goa, India )

When my daughter, Shaina was seven months old, there was foul-smelling pus oozing from her ear. When she was seventeen months old, we took her again to the doctors who said that there was a hole in her ear and they could do an operation that would cost Rs.150,000 - but there were no guarantees that Shaina would be healed.

In great faith, I brought Shaina in 1999 to Divine for a retreat. God healed her and there was no pus from her ear since the retreat! My husband who had attended the retreat as a Hindu, went back home and converted to become a Catholic. He now goes for regular confessions and daily Mass. He has received a job promotion and we have been blessed to build our own house.

Some time back, I had an accident and got a lump on my head. Before coming for this retreat, there were four small lumps surrounding it. During the Inner Healing session, I found that ALL the lumps have disappeared. Praise God!

MOTHER’S GRIEF TURNS TO PEACE(Rita Pinto, Mumbai, India)

I attended my first retreat in Divine seven years ago with a list of petitions – a suitable marriage proposal for my son, to have a new big house and so forth. The Lord heard and answered all my prayers and gave me many more blessings.

I came for this retreat but I was still very angry with God for the past seventeen years and carried the burden of pain of my eldest son’s death in my heart.

During this retreat, the Lord took away my pain and I feel so wonderful today! I also had a vision of Jesus sitting like a king on the throne and all the angels bowing and worshipping Him. I thank God for the joy He has placed in my heart!

GOD HEALS TORN LIGAMENTS (SONIA VAZ, GOA)

I am a housewife. I had attended a retreat at Divine Retreat Centre ten years ago. Two years back I had met with an accident and my knee ligaments were torn very badly. I was in plaster for two months. Later I used the walker, and then the walking stick. I fell again and tore the ligaments of my ankle on the other foot. My lower back was caught up and I could not kneel – I suffered severe pain. My children had to lift me up. I had taken tablets, yoga, physiotherapy but nothing helped! After a good Confession, through forgiveness, I knelt during the Adoration session and could get up without any help. I also lifted my hands to praise Jesus. I am healed, thank you Lord!

MIRACLE HEALING OF PANCREATIC CANCER (RANI BOSE, BANGALORE )

I am sixty years of age, a housewife, and have a son and a daughter. In July 1999. I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I had a major surgery in CMC Hospital Vellore. The surgeon told us that the chances of my survival were very remote but they would try to do their best. I sent prayer request to the Divine Retreat Centre and I also started praying fervently. I forgave all those who hurt me. The operation was successful. After the operation the doctor said that he felt God’s presence while operating on me. I believe it happened through the power of prayer. I had a speedy and sound recovery and till now Jesus has given me good health.

In August 2000 I attended a retreat in Delhi conducted by Fr. Augustine Vallooran and His team. During that retreat Fr. Augustine called out my name and gave a message that I received the healing touch of the Lord Jesus. I believed and claimed the healing and gradually I was healed of my bleeding problem from which I suffered for several years. In 2004 our daughter told us that her Alpha protein test reading was very high and the doctors told her that the baby’s spine could be affected and advised her to terminate her pregnancy. She had total faith in the Lord Jesus and she decided to go through the pregnancy.

It was at this time, in April 2004, my husband and I attended a retreat at Divine Retreat Centre and it was our first retreat at DRC. During the retreat we prayed for our daughter fervently to have a safe delivery and to have a healthy baby. On 10 June 2004 our daughter gave birth to a healthy and beautiful baby girl and named her Akriti. The good Lord answered our prayers. Since then, every year we are visiting DRC to give praise and thanks to the Lord for the marvels He has done for us. We thank you Jesus!

FINANCIAL CRISIS TO BLESSED PROSPERITY! (MARCOS D'SOUZA, GOA)

I am a Veterinary Surgeon in Government service. Presently I am the Deputy Director and my wife works for the State Bank of India. I have a daughter who will be getting married in May 2009 and my son is studying in PCC Engineering College in Goa. My first retreat at Divine Retreat Centre was in 1994. That retreat brought me close to God and I was serving in the Church in Goa. I helped in the formation of Small Christian Communities.

My wife and I first visited Divine in March 2006 for a spiritual renewal. We are not involved in any prayer groups now and hence felt the need for a retreat as we were going through trying situations at home and at office. My wife has osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. She experienced a lot of pain while walking, climbing steps and kneeling was out of the question. She was prescribed calcium, painkillers and glucosamine but nothing seemed to help.

During the Healing session, both of us received a lot of peace, joy and experienced the loving touch of God. On returning home, my wife’s painful knees were healed! She can now climb stairs and do all her normal activities without any painkillers. Praise the Lord!

Wife is Healed of Osteoathritis (Dr. Savio Sequeira Vaz, Goa)

I am originally from Mangalore settled in business in Goa. I have three sons. I visited Divine Retreat Centre for the first time in 1990. At that time we sa w a goods train carrying fuel caught fire and Divine was under threat as at that time most of the Centre’s roofs was covered with palm leaves. But God saved every single building in Divine! Witnessing this miracle I felt that this Retreat Centre is working on God’s power and therefore many are receiving healings by the power of God and this has strengthened my faith.

In the year 1989 I was in a very severe financial crisis – heavy debts. I was also suffering from backache. I do not remember what I did for my backache as I was very much worried about my financial crisis. A priest who wanted to help me advised me to go to Divine; he even offered to pay for my expenses, but stubborn as I was, I refused. But on 25 February 1999 which was my birthday, God provided me the resources to get money and I came for the retreat. During the retreat, I had a good spiritual counselling session wherein I really experienced the healing touch of the Lord Jesus and my backache disappeared. After returning home, in a few months God worked a miracle to set me free from my financial problem. He provided money through my own family members – my brothers and sisters - and helped me to tide over my crisis. Today financially I am very prosperous; I have a well furnished and well decorated house, a good business and my sons are all well settled. I praise you and thank you Lord Jesus.

The Word of God Transforms Woman's Life (Irene Rodrigues, Mumbai)

Before coming to Divine Retreat Centre I was only a Sunday Catholic. I was very fond of reading novels. I never read the Word of God, never prayed much and was surprised at how others could pray. A person I knew told me that at DRC, one learns how to pray and this brought me to this place.

My first retreat was in October 1995 and after that I came twice to learn more and grow in the Lord. In 1994 I was suffering from knee pain. The doctor had said that my cartilage was weak and I had to be operated. I took a second medical opinion and he too said the same. The date for the operation was fixed and just a day before that, my friend found out that persons above 35 years should not undergo such an operation because the cartilage would not grow after that age and operation was not advisable. After hearing this, I did not undergo the operation but visited DRC for a retreat.

During the Inner Healing service of that retreat, Fr. Augustine Vallooran called me by name and said. “Irene, your legs are healed”. I did not believe this because there were 18000 people for that retreat. During the infilling of the Holy Spirit, I felt someone holding my knee with one hand and I could feel the palm of his hand. Again in the evening during Adoration, Fr. Augustine Vallooran announced “Irene working in the bank, your legs are healed.” It was after forgiving everyone that I found a change in my life. Till date I have not had a fall.

During the retreat I was touched by the messages received from the preaching and I am putting them into practice. Reading the Word of God has become my daily practice. For four months after the retreat I used to say the inner healing prayers during my personal prayer. Then I saw Jesus in a vision. He showed a spring flowing pure crystal water from the mountain and He said “Your sins are washed away.” Since that day I felt peace deep within me and forgiveness has become easy for me. Now I experienced the intimacy with the Lord during my personal prayer. After my first retreat in 1995 I have not read any books besides spiritual books for my growth.

Healing of Migraine, Shoulder Pain and Acidity Problems (Bemvinda Monteiro, Goa)

I am a mother of two teenage children and work for an Institution. I had attended a retreat at Divine Retreat Centre in March 2004. Last year I had prayed for my daughter to get admission in a professional college.

My prayers were answered and I am now here to give thanks. I had acidity problem and used to get severe headaches. While in the room during this retreat, I slipped and fell and my right shoulder started giving pain. I could not lift up my hands to praise God.

During the Physical Healing service, Fr, Michael announced that a person with pain in the shoulder, acidity problem and migraine is healed. I claimed the healing and the pain is no more. I praise and thank God for His mighty healing for that has also strengthened my faith!

God's Protection Saves Son's Life (Aurea Antao, Mumbai)

I was a teacher but now a housewife with four sons and one daughter. My husband was a Marine Captain and now retired. I have attended six retreats at DRC and each time my faith has increased. It helped my family also to grow in faith. My third son who works on the ship fell overboard into icy cold water at Providence USA in the night. They searched for him but could not find him. Finally the coast guards saw him after twenty minutes of search and he was still conscious. That was a miracle! He said that he felt hands pushing him up when he was alone and helpless and believed it was Jesus holding him. The doctors were amazed that he did not develop hypothermia. Divine Providence had saved him. This happened in 2001 and two months later he returned home.

He had been to DRC in 2002 to thank the Lord and experienced the power of the Holy Spirit which helped him to strengthen his faith in Jesus. He passed his exams and was promoted to the rank of Captain. In 2005, he got married and in 2006, I attended a retreat at DRC and prayed to the Holy Spirit to bless my son with a child. Very soon his wife conceived and now they have a lovely baby girl. Jesus has been so good to him and takes care of him and his family. In 1997, I had fractured my hand and had not done enough physiotherapy.

The doctors said that it was too late now and I would always have trouble with the hand but during the Healing session, Jesus healed me. I also received the gift of tongues. I thank Jesus for also protecting my younger son (who is on the ship) from a number of accidents. He has passed his orals miraculously (Mates and Masters) after coming back from DRC. I will praise and thank God all my life for His countless blessings.
