God Saves Officers’ Lives (Dr. Alphonse, Bangalore, India)

I am a Medical officer in the Indian Navy. My first retreat at Divine was in 1995. During this retreat I was filled with the Holy Spirit. Due to the death of my father and problems in my family I had lost faith in God and man. Life was meaningless for as there was no peace or joy in my heart. But during the Inner Healing and Anointing sessions, I was filled with joy and happiness. I also received healing of all my sadness. Life has never been the same after my retreat at Divine. This is my fourth retreat at Divine and I have grown stronger in the Lord - Jesus has put me on the right track. In one of the retreats of Fr.Augustine at Bangalore in 1997, I received a message, “ Alphonse, God loves you why do you worry?” Jesus has intervened in my life in various ways. In the year 2001, during a monsoon, our ship was tossed about like a match-stick in the Bay of Bengal. Fifteen of our trainee officers were lost in two boats on the vast ocean during the training. They were without food and communication. Our Ship searched for them till 9.00 p.m. I prayed fervently to Jesus to calm down the storm and Jesus worked a miracle as He had done two thousand years ago. There was no storm for the rest of our voyage and we found those fifteen men at 9.15 P.M. On a another ocassion, I along with my Indian Naval Medical team were posted to Indonesia for an earthquake relief operation. We were lodged in a damaged hotel on the ground floor. Though the hotel was rocked thrice by tremors we were not injured as the Lord’s hand was protecting us. I thank and praise the Lord for His timely intervention in my life. Alleluia!

God’s Plan In My Life (Rajkumar M.S, The Nilgiris, India)

I was born and brought up in Wellington (Ooty), India. At present I am working as a Manager in HSBC, Bangalore. I have attended nine retreats and this is my tenth retreat. Being highly ambitious in life, I could not study to my expectation due to a poor financial background. I encountered many obstacles, criticism and humiliations in my life due to which I was broken to such an extent that I wanted to commit suicide. My only aim in life was to an officer in the armed force. I joined as a soldier and made all attempts to achieve my goal but was unsuccessful. Even the person whom I helped in the Commission Exams passed but not me. I did not lose hope but repeated attempts made me more unsuccessful. This brought a lot of stress and humiliation to my mind.

Life changed for me after my eighth retreat and my name was called during the Inner Healing session and the message was God had a better plan for me. I have been attending retreats since 1996 and every retreat brought me closer to Jesus and increased my faith in Him. Psalm 23 and Psalm 91 gave me confidence. According to God’s plan, I left the Indian Army and started my carrier as a civilian. Slowly I overcame all the obstacles of life and I became the Manager for HSBC Bank, Bangalore. Jesus also blessed me with a wonderful wife. I thank and praise the Lord for all the wonderful things He has done in my life. Alleluia!

Woman’s Hand is Completely Healed (Mrs.A.E.Coutinho, GOA, India)

I am a housewife and have three children. I had attended a retreat at Divine in 2000. In the year 2002, I had a fracture on my right hand. I was operated but it was not successful. My husband insisted me to once again undergo an operation and the operation was successful. I used to work with that hand and lift heavy things but of late I used to get terrible pain whenever I used to work. During the Holy Week retreat in 2006 I was healed instantly in the Inner Healing service while listening to the Word of God. I praise and thank the Lord for taking away my pain. The doctor removed the steel plate, which was inserted during my operation in 2003. Jesus has restored me back to good health. Alleluia!

Jesus Ensures Baby's Safe Delivery (Anitha Mascarenhas, GOA, India)

I am a housewife with two children. I had attended a retreat with my husband in 1997. I had two miscarriages after my firstborn. When I conceived the fourth time, I was advised complete bed rest lest I lose my child. But I came to Divine with a lot of faith during the third month of my pregnancy. During the retreat, I started getting severe pain and had to be taken to Kerala hospital. I was once again advised bed rest but what kept me going was my deep faith in Jesus. When the time came for delivery, I was in labour pain for two days and the doctor said that I would have to be operated as the baby had gone up. My husband signed the necessary papers for my operation and in ten minutes I was going to be operated. My husband is also a prayerful man; he went to the Blessed Sacrament and surrendered me into the hands of Jesus. The Lord worked a miracle - He did intervene and within five minutes I delivered a baby girl. We have named her Tabitha Angel. I thank and praise you Jesus for averting my operation. Alleluia!

JESUS TRANSFORMS MAN’S LIFE(MEHBOOB G KHAN, GOA)

I am from a Muslim family and work on the construction site. I have studied only up to 4th Standard in a Kannada medium school. I ran away from my house when I was ten years old because of a quarrel between my father and me. I wandered all over India in search of work, peace of mind and aim of my life. Finally I reached Goa where I met a Catholic Lady and she introduced Jesus to me. She suggested that I make a retreat at Divine. Before meeting Jesus, I felt my life was worthless and lonely without friends. I felt very insecure and anxious and was always tensed about my future.

It was at this moment of distress and discomfort that Lord Jesus entered my life and gave me assurance of His Fatherhood. He told me that He loves me, He cares for me, He has a plan for my life - that I am His Child and precious for Him. It was for me that He died on the Cross and He is my Saviour and Lord. I used to long for my father’s love and Jesus filled my emptiness with His love and concern. He is transforming my life everyday and I experience more and more of His love by listening to the Word of God. I thank the Lord for taking away all my worries, sadness, loneliness and insecurity feeling. Alleluia!

CHILDLESS COUPLE’S PRAYER ANSWERED(AGNES D’SILVA, GOA)

This is my third retreat at Divine. My daughter Sharon was childless even after seven year of marriage. She was shown to many doctors and they said that she did not have any problem. We were desperate and finally came to Divine and asked the Lord to intervene into our problem. Jesus true to His promises intervened and after seven years of marriage she was blessed with a baby boy. Alleluia!

JESUS SETS MAN FREE FROM ADDICTIONS(ALVARO PEREIRA, GOA)

I am fifty-two years old and was addicted to drinking and eating tobacco. I joined a rehabilitation centre to come out of these evil habits, but nothing changed my life. I had created a lot of problems for my family and myself when I was a drunkard. I was hospitalized at Bombay with liver problem because of alcohol and was in the ICU; but Jesus, my Saviour, kept me alive and safe.

My first visit to Divine was ten years ago. During my second visit the Lord touched me, after I made a good confession and surrendered all my sinful habits to the Lord. I was also convinced of my sins during the counselling. I was particularly touched by this particular Word of God” Ask and you shall receive, Seek and you shall find, Knock and it shall be opened to you”. I claimed the promise of God and asked the Lord to take away the bottle and tobacco from my life. Jesus heard my cry and set me free. Today I am a free man living for Jesus. Alleluia!

HEALED OF 10-YEAR CHRONIC STOMACH PROBLEMS(RYAN LEMOS, BANGALORE)

Originally I am from Mumbai but moved to Bangalore eleven months ago. I am a computer Consultant, working Cable and Wireless (India) Ltd. My fiancée had been to Divine twice and it is because of her that I have come for a retreat. I was suffering from chronic stomach problems which was very severe. I was unable to stand or walk. The pain used to last the whole day and would stop only when I slept at night. I was suffering from this pain for the past ten years. I was on antibiotics for some time. The doctor said that there was nothing medically wrong with me and it was only due to stress and tensions - hence there was no medical cure. I had insecurity feelings, fears, worries and tensions. Jesus took away all these negative feelings and filled me with His joy and peace. I was healed during the physical healing session. Alleluia!

My first retreat at Divine was in 2005. As a family we were well physically but there was lot of financial problems and because of this, there was tensions and frustrations within our family. We spent many sleepless nights and led a tensed life. My children encouraged me to make a retreat at Divine. After a good confession, I surrendered all my present and past sins to God and promised God to give up all my evil habits. After my confession I was filled with happiness and the Lord eased all my burdens and tensions.

I went back home with a lot of joy and hope in my heart that Jesus was with me. In return, Jesus blessed me with peace of mind. Child’s Deformities Healed After Retreat (Baby Mary Angel Noronha, Goa)

Our daughter Mary Angel was born in 2000. She was physically and mentally deformed. She had a large head. Her spinal cord with all its nerves and blood vessels could be seen. She was paralyzed from hip down wards. Sometimes her large intestine would come out of her anus, two inches outside her body and she would scream in pain. Her feet were clubbed and twisted with no sensation at all. The doctors had given up all hopes. We surrendered her to the Lord and went to Divine to pray for her. On Thursday I remained with her in the room and my wife went for the adoration. But both of us experienced the presence of the Lord and believed in his healing power. We praised and thanked the Lord for this trial in our lives. As a result during the retreat her weight had increased to about 800 grams. From then onwards we were in for great miracles. All her deformities disappeared gradually and she started walking within three months. We were told about the risk in having the second baby. But we believed in the promises of God and He blessed us with another child. What a wonderful God we have! Confession Brings Spiritual Healing (Margaret Chandrababu, Secunderabad)

I am a teacher in a boys’ school at Secunderabad and a single parent to my 5 year old daughter. My first retreat at Divine was in the year 2003. Spiritually I was sick. I was angry with two persons who had cheated and ruined my life totally and caused in me the tendency to commit suicide. There God sent His Holy Spirit to give me His counsel and then I went to Divine to tell Jesus that he was the only one whom I trust in my life. During the retreat I made a good confession after 25 years. After confession I felt very light and could hear within me a voice saying: “I have never forsaken you”. Jesus filled me with a lot of love in my heart. Back home I saw the person who had cheated my daughter and me. I never felt angry, instead this time I could pray for that person. Hip Operation a Success for 85 year-old Man (Charles Allen, Chennai)

“I Will Reward Them With Long Life, I Will Save Them” (Ps.91.16)

This is exactly what the Lord is doing for me. I am 85 years old and I now testify to the Lord for His love for me. I sincerely thank the Lord and His blessed Mother for having saved my life through a two and a half hours operation from a broken hip, due to a fall. The operation was performed on the 2^nd of July 2003 and was a great success, an amazing recovery as told by the doctors despite my age. Now I am able to walk with the help of a walker, and as I walk with the Lord I sing His praises. Thank you and praise you Jesus.

Non-Catholic Woman’s Hand Healed After Retreat (Milan Naik, Goa)

I am a Hindu woman, married for the last twelve years. For the past ten years I have been suffering from unbearable pain in my left hand, right from the top of the shoulder. I took some medicines and treatment, but it was of no use. My friends used to share their spiritual experience at Divine. I began to reflect over it and I had been waiting to visit Divine and have the same experience. For three years there were obstacles, but my desire to visit Divine grew more and more. Finally God made it possible for me to attend a retreat along with some of my colleagues. It was a great experience. I listened to the Word of God with great desire and reverence in my heart. I am touched by our Lord Jesus Christ. On the day of confession of sins, as I am a non-catholic and I cannot go for the sacrament of confession, I went straight up to the second floor chapel where Jesus in the blessed sacrament is exposed and confessed all my sins directly to Jesus. I experienced the power of forgiveness of sins and slowly the pain in my hand started reducing and I was healed. I have faith and I believed in Jesus Christ as the Saviour of all mankind Thank you Jesus , Praise You Jesus. Alleluia!

Baby’s Miraculous Recovery ( Jude Anthony Diniz, Goa)

Our son, Jude Anthony, was born on 16 June 2003 in a very serious condition. His lungs were infected as he had drank the fluid while in his mother’s womb. He was immediately admitted to the Neo-Natal ICU and put in a ventilator. The doctors told us that there was very little hope of survival for our baby – only a 1% chance.

We did not give up hope and prayed to our Almighty God to save our son. On the 8th day, Jude was removed from the ventilator and was only given oxygen. On the 12^th day, our son could breath on his own normally.

Jude Anthony is now 1 year old and completely cured.

Complete Healing of Diabetic Wounds (Mrs. Pauline Miranda, Mumbai)

I came to the Divine Retreat Centre with swollen, bandaged feet. I was a diabetic patient for forty years. While travelling on the bus one day, someone’s heel accidentally struck my left foot. I ignored it till the wound began to fester a few days later.

Doctors at first treated me for eczema dismissing it as a skin rash. But the wound did not heal even after prolonged treatment. I was then tested for diabetes. The report read ‘Positive.’ If it had not been for the unhealed wound, I would never have known that I was a diabetic.

Over the years, I turned into a complete recluse as it became unbearable to walk with my unhealed foot. I underwent surgery so that skin from my left thigh could be grafted on to the left foot. The skin graft took five years to heal. Meanwhile surgery was also performed on the right foot. But the skin did not accept the graft and so the wound remained unhealed.

To add to this pain, I fell and broke my hipbone. I needed crutches to walk after a steel rod was inserted in the hip. I could only cry out to the Lord in agony. For “He forgets not the cry of the humble.” (Psalm 9:12)

Healed of Severe Joint Paints (Mary Fernandes, Goa)

I had been suffering from severe pain in the right shoulder joint and both the knee joints for the past seven years. Several doctors treated me but pain persisted. I could not lift my right hand or kneel down. The intense pain was caused by the wearing down of the bones in my joints.

I came for a retreat at the Divine Retreat Centre on 22^nd November 1997. During the Adoration, I suddenly found that I was able to raise my hand up to praise the Lord. I could also kneel down after seven long years. Now I have no pain in any of my joints. Praise be to Jesus.

Faith Heals (Gloria Dass, Tuticorin)

“Thus says the Lord, ‘Behold, I will make them know, this once I will make them know My power and My might, and they shall know that My name is the Lord.’ ” (Jeremiah 16:21)

In 1993, I met with a serious road accident in which my collarbone and the bones of my hand were fractured. In spite of immediate medical care and treatment I could not get back the normal movement of my hand. I soon learnt to live with it.

In 1998, I came to the Divine Centre to make my retreat, not giving much thought to my disability. During one of the sessions, it was announced that Jesus was healing someone who had fractured a collarbone five years ago. I had not thought it would be healing because I never prayed for it. To my surprise, that night when I lay down, I found myself unknowingly folding my hand and keeping it under my head. This was something I could never have dreamt of doing since my accident. I thank my Lord for His great concern and love for me.

Living in Faith (Rohan Parish, Nepal)

My wife and I had been to the Divine Retreat Centre twice. The first time we were there during November 1994. We went there with an intention basically to pray for ourselves since we were not blessed with a child after four long years of anxious waiting inspite of all the best medical treatment. After the retreat, we were rather disappointed since almost a year had gone by and nothing had worked out for us. We were heart-broken. But deep in our hearts we were sure of the Lord’s mercy and grace knowing that one day He would shower His blessings upon us. So once again we decided to go to the Divine Retreat Centre and somewhere around October 1995 we made our second retreat.

The priest who had blessed and prayed for us, told us, “Do not be disappointed. God knows what is best for us and gives it to us when the time is right. Pray not only for your personal needs but also for others having similar problems.” It struck us then – how selfish we had been. From that very moment my wife and I decided to surrender ourselves totally to Jesus and accept the plan of God even if we were not going to have a child. We just praised and thanked for it. As we offered ourselves to Jesus we also prayed for others who were having worse problems than ours.

Our Lord knew our hearts’ desire. He heard our prayers immediately. My wife conceived and on New Year’s Day 1997, we were blessed with a beautiful baby girl. She was the most precious gift we could ever receive in our lifetime. Our joy knew no bounds and we praised and thanked the Almighty Lord. He works wonders in the lives of everyone who calls upon Him with a sincere heart. Our parents, friends and relatives rejoiced with us in this revelation of God’s glory.

When we look back and think of it, we thank God for making us wait so long because it has brought us even closer to Jesus. How wonderfully He proves His love for us. We will always thank our Lord and never stop praising Him for what He has done for us.

Marriage Renewed & Husband Healed! (Oda V Fagwite, Germany)

“Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth; sing the glory of His name; give to Him glorious praise. Say to God, ‘How awesome are your deeds!’ ” (Psalm 66:1-3)

My husband and I came to the Divine Retreat Centre from Germany because we wanted to strengthen our faith. In fact, my husband was the one who wanted to come. I was full of doubts wondering whether I should make the long way to India and take the health risk in my condition of three months’ pregnancy. Finally, I relented and decided to come.

The first day was particularly troubling and I felt depressed. I thought I had no special problem to be healed. The retreat was my only problem. It was a challenge to stay here and I was worried I might prove to be an unbeliever.

During the preparation for confession, I understood I did have a problem. My heart was full of unforgiveness and revenge towards my husband and others. After having told him and being reconciled, I was able to feel genuine repentance, and all my sins were revealed to me. I had a good confession and felt delivered for the first time in years.

My marriage has been renewed and we are very happy. My husband has been healed from a serious hearing problem. I am not a spiritual person. Therefore I consider it a real miracle that in the service of inner healing, I was so touched by looking at the face of our Lord. Tears ran down my cheeks in torrents. Later, I had a sensation of total peace and utter weakness. Even though I had no visions of Him, I felt overwhelmed by the love of God. I am sure someday He will reveal His Holy face to me!

Healed of Uterus Bleeding (Ann Marie Lee, USA)

"The Helpless Call To Him, And He Answers; He Saves Them From All Their Troubles"(Ps.34:6) I am a teacher and a social worker here in India for one year. I came for a retreat in July 2003, then volunteered in September/February 2004. I was suffering from severe bleeding for two months and was anemic. I went for confession the week before the retreat and then received a Bible passage (when I opened at random) "I will heal this city and its people and restore them to health" (Jer.33:6).

On the very first day of the retreat the bleeding stopped. A message was given that three people are cured of uterus problems and one will not have to undergo surgery. I believed that the illness was due to my disobedience to the Lord regarding the call to preach the Word. I did not want to do it. Now I have made the decision and commitment to do His will with all my strength no matter what it costs. This healing was a touch of mercy in my life. God forgave me and then even spared me the painful and scary event of having a surgery. Even though I did not deserve it God gave me this splendid gift. Thank you Jesus!

A Good Confession Heals Man (Walter Pinto, Mumbai)

I am a graduate from Srinagar, Kashmir and now working for M/s.German Remedies as Area Manager for Government Industries in Mumbai. My first retreat was in August 2001. A good confession of my sins broke down and rooted out all the stones in my kidneys, which made me suffer with acute pain for 20 years. The stones were forming in my kidneys on an average once in six months. I got fed up with the passing of 42 kidney stones. I took homeopathic treatment, which was of no use. I had undergone surgery twice. Every now and then I had to go through Lithotripsy, which was a costly affair. Even then the stones kept forming within me. I was miserably disappointed. At this stage God intervened in my life. I was taken to Divine Retreat Centre by force. On the first day I tried to escape but was caught by the Security. Thanks to them. Slowly I took a liking for the Word of God and stuck to my seat for the entire week, and the power of the Word of God melted my heart. I asked Lord Jesus to help me to confess my sins and I repented. Tears flowed out of my eyes and for the first time in my life I wept so bitterly. After confession I felt very light. I was over joyed and forgot myself. I knew my Lord had forgiven me. Since then till date I have no more pain and no more stones. I am here to thank and praise my Jesus for healing me. I got this healing through forgiveness of my sins by confession. Thank you Lord! Kidney Patient Healed At Retreat (Hillary Stanis, West Bengal)

"Call To Me, And I Will Answer You"(Jn.33:3)
I am a Catholic and employed in the Gulf for the last 4 years. I came to know about Divine from my parents who attended a retreat in the year 1991 and from Priests of Fatima Retreat Centre, Patna, Bihar. In February 2004,the doctors at Gulf diagnosed me as a CRF patient (Both kidneys damaged). I came to India on May 14, 2004, for transplantation of my kidneys. I was hospitalized and several tests were conducted and the doctor suggested that only dialysis or transplantation of the kidneys would keep me alive. I was on dialysis and the access was made on my neck. Every alternate day dialysis was done. On the 25th of June I insisted the doctors to discharge me so that I could attend a retreat at Divine Retreat Centre. The doctors could not refuse me because I insisted on going to Divine. I was advised by the doctor to go on dialysis every alternate day. On the 26th of June I was discharged and on 27th June I reached Divine Retreat Centre, along with my wife. I continuously believed and prayed to Jesus that he would heal me. I cried my heart out to Jesus to touch and heal me. On the 4th day of the retreat during the healing session, Fr. John announced that the Lord is healing 3 kidney patients. I claimed the healing. On 3rd July, we went back to the same hospital and the doctors were surprised to see me. Jesus had worked a great miracle in my life. Jesus heard my prayers. I was one among the three. I am healed. Praise the Lord!

Damaged Eardrum Completely Healed (Jackson Costa, Oman)

"On That Day The Deaf Shall Hear The Words Of A Scroll, And Out Of Their Gloom And Darkness The Eyes Of The Blind Shall See"(Is.29:18)
This is a testimony of the miracle that happened in my life when i had visited Divine way back in April 2001. I had ear problem, since the age of two or three when I accidentally put a tamarind seed in my ear for which I had to be operated. But the problem didn't stop there, as occasionally there was blood coming and later puss used to get formed by which I used to get a terrible pain. When checked I found that my eardrum had a hole and had a slight hearing problem. Finally again I got operated in the year 1992 but things didn't get any better. Bleeding, puss, terrible pain and the hole in the eardrum still existed. So when I came to God in 2001 I had met a specialist who said that an operation is necessary as my ear was in a very bad shape. He cleaned my ear and said that I would see him as soon as I was ready for operation.

In the meantime my sister in law virtually forced me to come to Potta. I came to Potta unwillingly and in the very second day I discarded my medicines and prayed to the lord for healing. The priest asked as to who got healed of ear trouble and I put up my hand as I felt a strange feeling come over me. But until then to be very frank I was not absolutely sure that I was cured.

When I came back to Goa and went and saw the doctor for the date of operation, I was stunned to hear the doctor ask me what was the operation for? I answered him meekly saying that you said so and I had the history of ear problem. To that he said, your ear is absolutely fine and there is no need of anything.

Well as any other human being and a sinner I visited another Doctor just out of curiosity to know the truth. They checked my ear and said that the ea drum is fine and there is no hole at all. Praise the LORD!!!

I then left for the Sultanate of Oman to join my duty. And till this very day I never had any discharge of puss, blood, pain, etc. Praise the Lord!!

It's been a long time since I was planning to visit Divine to give thanks. I had to come on an emergency visit just for my sister in laws wedding and since I was only one doing all the arrangement I could not make it to Divine at that time. I will thank and praise the Lord forever.

Faith in God Heals Father(Michael Machado, Mumbai)

I am writing this testimony on behalf of my father. My father wanted to visit Divine Retreat Centre on the 25th of June for a retreat. All of a sudden he fell seriously ill. He had very high fever. Our family doctor gave him some medicine and injection. The medicines had a very bad reaction on his whole body. The doctor said that his condition was out of control. He was shifted to ICU. I remember it was the first Friday of July. The previous night we got the news that he might not survive. I spent the whole day in prayer. I was crying, I did not know what to do.

The following day that is on the 1st Friday I made a phone call to the Divine Retreat Center and asked Fr.Augustine to pray for my father and for his complete healing. I had felt that everything was over but my faith in Jesus increased and was very deep. I was continuously hearing one sentence 'If you have faith in Him, nothing is impossible'. Whenever I used to go to the hospital to visit my father I would see others coming out ICU and could only imagine the day my father would be discharged out of ICU.

Jesus blessed my father and miraculously he was healed and discharged from the hospital. I thank Jesus the greatest Physician and the Divine Retreat Centre for interceding for this favour. Thank you Jesus, Praise you Jesus, Alleluia! "

Son Healed of Primary Complex Disease(Samson & Sylvia, Tamil Nadu)

It is really delightful and we are happy to testify to the marvellous works of the merciful loving Lord our God. Our son, Aldrin Thomas, suffered from Primary Complex. We generally avoid taking him out as he was susceptible to infections. We wanted to make a retreat at Divine Retreat Centre to pray for our son.

In the month of August 2004 we travelled by train and reached DRC - we noticed nothing affected him. Our faith deepened and we prayed surrendering ourselves totally to the Lord. During one of the sessions the Priest announced that a message had come from the intercessory prayer group that a young boy with Primary Complex has been healed. We claimed the healing for our son and the Lord Jesus mercifully healed our son.

We praise and thank the Lord. We realize that as we come close to the Lord, He takes care of all our needs. So we will live always close to Jesus and hope to help many other people to come closer to Him

God's Abundant Love Heals Woman in Hong Kong Retreat(Amy Tsang, Hong Kong)

Glory to God, Praise the Lord! I experienced healing in God's love in a 5-day retreat presided by Father Augustine Vallooran V.C. & his assistants held from 29 Sep to 3 Oct 2004 in Hong Kong. Without God's grace, I couldn't attend the 5-day retreat. I felt the love and the miraculous touch of the Eucharistic Lord and experienced overwhelming love, peace and forgiveness.

In August 2003, I suffered from polyarthritis, soft tissue rheumatism due to exacerbation of my immunological disease, SLE. Since then, I needed to use crutches when walking. After having 8-month sick leave & performing 10-month physiotherapy, I still couldn't walk upstair/downstair, run, squat, or kneel down. I had to use crutches to walk stairs step by step. In a healing mass & Eucharistic Adoration presided by Father Fernando on 24 July 2004, I encountered the healing Jesus. Jesus Himself entered into me & healed me from the inside. I could walk upstairs & downstairs without using crutches instantly when Father Fernando prayed for me, held my hands & brought me to the altar.

Though I could walk the stairs and kneel down, I still could not run or skip. Because of heavy workload in my workplace, my knee joints started to inflame 2-3 weeks before the 5-day retreat. God did not forsake me. . He healed me again during the Eucharist Healing session, but I was not sure. When Father Augustine told us that God healed 2 people with knee pains & swelling, I asked Jesus to give me more confirmation if He did heal me. In the afternoon, I found that I could skip and hop when singing hymns. In the evening, I could even run. During the session on the third day of the retreat, we were asked if those healed by God but were not sure on the first day of the retreat would like to confirm God's physical healing. By that time, I knew God had done great thing on me. He healed me physically. Not only did I experience God's mercy and healing, but I also experienced God's presence in the form of bread.

God not only healed me physically through the prayer of Father Augustine, but also He healed my heart. I got healing of memories of soul-spirit hurts and emotional pain. I had once turned away from God because of repeated sufferings in my life. I had believed that God was not merciful and compassionate and I believed that He would not heal me, help me or even forgive me. I used to think of myself as the least preferred child of God. Night after night for weeks and months and years, my pillow was soaked with tears of sorrow. I felt abandoned. I had once hated Him for allowing me to be hurt. I had seen Him as an apathetic observer who only stood aside without giving a helping hand. But now I know I've misunderstood Him. He has never stopped loving me even when I turned away from Him, in the midst of my sins, and especially in times of sufferings.

I finally returned to church in April 2004 because of God's grace and the persistent prayers of my Christian friends. Though I experienced God's healing in July. I still could not feel the love of God from the bottom of my heart. I had difficulty in relating with God as a loving Father. I was uncertain of His love and fearful of receiving His love.

In that 5-day retreat, I experienced deep healing from God. I was deeply touched by Jesus. I couldn't stop crying during the mass and healing sessions - it was such a beautiful healing experience. Jesus forgave my sins and empowered me to forgive those who had hurt me. Jesus directed me to bring those I needed to forgive to the Eucharist. He invited me to offer all the burden and pain to Him. He removed the bitterness in my hearts & filled the empty spaces with His love. He was sad to know that I didn't feel His love on me from the bottom of my heart. But He did not turn away. Instead, He invited me to come to Him in His Eucharistic presence to receive consolation whenever I was down and in troubles. He assumed the role of a loving father. I saw Him carrying me through healing the hurts and pains of interpersonal relationship. I felt the peace, warmth, love and comfort from God. The wounds deep inside my heart are healed.

I used to think of myself as a burden to my family and worry about the future. Jesus told me that I was not a burden to my family but a blessing and He is the certainty of my future. He comforted me through Eucharistic Adoration, the hymns, the sermons of Father Augustine and the Healing mass.

I know the God I believe is the Almighty One who listens to and answers prayers, heals the wounded and the sick, comforts and counsels the sad and the weary. Thank you Jesus, Praise you Jesus.

No Trace of Recurring Cancer!(John Roy, Bangkok)

I am 36 years old from Maradu, Kochi presently staying at Bangkok. Right from 2001, I used to visit the hospital frequently for stomach pain. Proper examination was not done. During January 2002 I had a severe stomach pain and was admitted at the same hospital in Bangkok. On examination, they found a large tumour on head of my pancreas. The surgeon told me that it was too late and that they could not do anything. He advised me to go to my hometown for surgery.

Hence I came to Kochi and was admitted at Amrita Hospital. I underwent a 12 hours long risky surgery done by world famous surgeons at that hospital. But by grace of Lord, finally the surgery was a success and the tumour was removed. On pathological examination it was found that tumour was cancerous. Later I had radiation & chemotheraphy treatment at Amala Hospital, Thrissur. The doctor told me that if the tumour does not repeat within 5 years, I am perfectly healed.

Then during April 2002, I attended a one-week retreat at Divine Retreat Centre. It was a splendid experience listening to the Lord daily from 6 AM to 10 PM. During the retreat, it was announced that a person who had tumour in the stomach was being healed by the Lord. It was me. Praise the Lord! Thank you very much Lord for having mercy on me. After attending the retreat, I left for Bangkok to resume my work.

Till date I have been undergoing CT scan for my stomach every six months, and by Lord's Grace, there are no traces of any repeating tumour. I thank the Lord for showering his blessing on me and I also thank all at Divine Retreat Centre for praying strongly for me & others. May the Almighty Lord shower his compassion & blessing to those sick persons reading this testimony.

Childless Couple Blessed with a Child after 10 years(Aloysius & Julia Soares, Mumbai)

I am a Marine Engineer and my wife is a school -teacher. By the grace of God we are living a very peaceful and happy life. Our first retreat was in the year 2002. We were childless for 10 years. During this time we visited many doctors and did many possible tests. Nothing really worked for us. Ultimately we gave up all the earthly doctors and medicine and looked up to Jesus the Divine Physician.

While attending a retreat at DRC during the inner healing session, I felt the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The Lord touched me and took away all our sadness. Today we are blessed with a son who is sixteen months old. We have named him Jonathan (Gift from God).

Thank you Jesus for such a beautiful gift. We shall remain ever grateful to you and spread your kingdom. Alleluia!
