A
100 bed After Care Centre, the Home for AIDS patients was
opened in 1997. Currently, there are 87 adults and 13
children.
For
the residents, St. Vincent’s Home is a happy home where they
experience love and concern. No one is made to feel an outcast.
The children play their games, sing and dance with real joy
and delight. The men and women express their joy in living,
thankful to God for every moment of their lives.

Expert
medical care is provided by a dedicated team to alleviate the
suffering and to sustain the health of the AIDS patients. All
of them arrive at the Home in the deepest depths of
depression. Within a few weeks, they experience a new life –
an inner healing. Divine’s trained counsellors share God’s
words of love, forgiveness and compassion with the residents.
All are taught that they are children of God – and very much
loved by Him. In the evenings, many of the residents do some
gardening. All of them have a special devotion to Mother Mary
and the Rosary.

The
two Reverend Sisters and dedicated volunteers in charge of
the Home spoke about the remarkable way the residents face
life and death without fear – as God has said, “I
will never leave you; I will never abandon you.” (Hebrews
13:5)
